Welcome to the Phantom Ranch Group Lottery!

Group Lottery submissions are accepted beginning the 15th month prior to the stay month. Submissions are accepted from 12:01 a.m. on the 1st of the month through 11:59 p.m. on the 25th of the month. Processing of lottery entries occurs during the 14th month prior to the stay month. Unsold or unclaimed inventory will open to the general public beginning on the 13th month prior to the stay month. See the schedule on the left side of this page for details on the current month's lottery activity. Please note the Dormitories are currently closed and we, unfortunately, do not yet have a new target date for them to re-open. As a result, Hiker groups are currently limited to 10 people.

    Phantom Ranch Group Lottery Submission Terms & Conditions

    The lottery submission form is for submitting an entry to the Phantom Ranch lottery. Submissions do not guarantee a reservation at Phantom Ranch. Entries are accepted for one month at a time based upon the schedule outlined at www.phantomranchlottery.com. Entries are limited to one per person and those entries tagged as duplicates will be removed from the lottery process. Lottery entries are intended for personal use of any accommodations reserved at Phantom Ranch and are not intended for purposes of personal/company gain to purchase and resell. Any reservations deemed as being used for intentional resale for personal/company gain may result in reservations being canceled. This submission is intended for groups with 10 Hikers only. With the current closure of the Dormitories, the maximum quantity per submission is 10. Individuals requesting to reserve up to a maximum of 9 Hikers or 10 Mule Riders should use the standard Phantom Ranch Lottery Submission form.
     

    Group lottery winners will be selected at random. Requests of winning submissions will be compared to the current available inventory and reservations will be booked accordingly when we're able to match the request based upon the specified arrival date(s), number of nights, quantity of guests, accommodation type, etc. for first, second or third choices as indicated. Winners will be notified via email. For group bookings through December 31st 2020, Phantom Ranch requires a deposit equal to 50% of the full amount of the reservation within 14 days from the date of the contract. The remaining balance is due at least 90 days prior to arrival. For Group bookings arriving January 1st 2021 and beyond, the required deposit within 14 days from the date of the contract is equal to the full stay.  Unclaimed reservations will be canceled and inventory returned to be resold to other guests. Additional meals or duffel service may also be added (and we encourage it) at the time of confirming the reservation. Any unclaimed or unsold inventory will be made available to the general public when inventory is released to the general public 13 months prior to the stay month (see schedule).

    Reservations at Phantom Ranch (whether confirmed through the lottery process or once opened to the general public) require full prepayment as a deposit to guarantee the reservation. Any modifications to the reservation may result in the entire reservation being subject to the new applicable rate.
     

    Phantom Ranch reservations must be canceled at least 45 days prior to arrival to receive a refund of the deposit. Cancellations made within 45 days will result in full forfeiture of the deposit. Reductions in quantities are considered a cancellation and the cancellation policy/penalty applies. Example: The original reservation is for 14 Hikers in dorms and with meals. One of the Hikers is unable to go and the reservation is reduced from 14 to 13 less than 45 days prior to the arrival. This is considered a cancellation of 1 Hiker and the deposit for this Hikers dorm and meals is non-refundable.
